Paul Pletka was born in 1946 in San Diego, California and currently resides in Santa Fe, New Mexico. He started painting and exhibiting his pieces in the 1960s when he began to cultivate his neo-surrealist style. He is inspired by both the history and religion of the Native American culture of the late 19th century. It is his detailed research and technique that enables Pletka to capture the spirit of the Southwestern Native American. Paul Pletka has become one of the most noted painters of Native American culture and shows in galleries nationwide.
